This Privacy Policy explains how Bentory (“we”, “us”, or “our”) handles information when you use the app.
1. Overview
Bentory is designed to work primarily on your device.
- We do not require you to create an account to use the app.
- We do not use third-party advertising SDKs.
- We do not use third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.
Most Bentory features work locally on your device. Bentory does not operate its own servers to collect or store your recipe content or personal information. If you enable iCloud sync, supported data may be stored and synchronized through Apple’s CloudKit/iCloud services.
2. Information We Do Not Collect Through Our Own Servers
Bentory does not ask for your name, email address, phone number, or similar personal information in order to use the app.
- We do not run our own backend account system for storing your recipes or app content.
- We do not use our own external servers to collect your recipe library, shopping lists, meal plans, or AI prompts.
3. On-Device Processing and AI Features
Bentory includes AI-powered recipe features that use Apple’s on-device Foundation Models.
When you use AI features, such as generating recipe ideas from a description or from ingredients you already have, the content is processed on your device. Bentory does not send this AI content to its own servers for processing.
AI features may require a compatible device and supported operating system version.
4. iCloud Sync and Cloud Data
Bentory offers optional iCloud sync for supported features.
If you enable iCloud sync, your data may be stored and synchronized through Apple’s CloudKit/iCloud services so that it can be available across your Apple devices.

5. In-App Purchases, Subscriptions, and Payments
Bentory offers Bentory Pro as an optional in-app purchase, available through an auto-renewing subscription or a one-time purchase.
All payments, purchases, subscriptions, renewals, and refunds are handled by Apple through the App Store and StoreKit.
- We do not receive your full payment card information, billing details, or Apple ID password.
- Bentory may receive purchase and subscription status information from Apple so the app can determine whether premium features should be unlocked.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
Because Bentory primarily stores data locally on your device, you generally control your app data.
- If you choose to delete data from within the app, that data will be removed from your local app database.
- If iCloud sync is enabled, related synced data may also be removed from your iCloud-backed app data.
- If you uninstall the app from your device, local app data on that device is removed.
- If iCloud sync was enabled, some synced data associated with your Apple account may remain in iCloud until it is also removed from there.
7. Children’s Privacy
Bentory is not directed to children under the age of 13.
Because Bentory does not require accounts and does not use its own servers to collect personal information, we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through our own systems.
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the app, legal requirements, or our data handling practices. When we do, we will update the “Last Updated” date above.
